Welcome back to football, Tar Heel fans. After a few days of watching the basketball team score a ridiculous amount of points on opposing teams, now we get to watch the football team do the same (hopefully). Military academy The Citadel comes to Chapel Hill for a shockingly favorable 3:30 pm start on Saturday. As most of us know, because it is against an FCS opponent, this game has no bearing on ACC standings or wins counted in bowl eligibility. However, it’s a chance for the Tar Heels to get back on track, ready to control what they can control. The best thing UNC can do is to take care of business this week, in order to get ready for NC State next week.
Some other notable games in the ACC this week include #5 Louisville at Houston later tonight, as well as Virginia Tech at Notre Dame on Saturday. It’s tough to know who to root for in that second game. It’s a given that VT needs to lose to Virginia next week for the Heels to take the Coastal, but would Carolina rather have them win this relatively meaningless game or lose it? A loss could discourage Virginia Tech, or encourage them, depending on their perspective. Anyways, regardless of what we HOPE will happen, the Tar Heel Blog team picks what they THINK will happen below:
