NCAA Tournament 2nd Round Saturday Open Thread

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Thursday was largely non-eventful save a couple of upsets and tight games. Friday was straight bonkers with 15 seeded Middle Tennessee knocking out the so called "master of March" Tom Izzo and Michigan St.  Northern Iowa beat Texas on a half court buzzer beater and Cincinnati lost to St. Joseph's because someone tried to Brian Reese instead of Tyler Zeller a shot at the buzzer.

The ACC opened the first round with a 6-1 mark. Pitt was the only loss and shamed the league in ways that cannot be articulated scoring just 43 points in a 47-43 loss to Wisconsin. Five ACC teams are in action today with no one facing higher than a #9 seed.

The schedule:

#3 Miami vs #11 Wichita State, 12:10 PM, CBS

#4 Duke vs #12 Yale, 2:40 PM, CBS

#4 Kentucky vs #5 Indiana, 5:15 PM, CBS

#4 Iowa St. vs #12 Arkansas Little Rock, 6:10 PM, TNT

#1 Virginia vs #9 Butler, 7:10 PM, TBS

#1 Kansas vs #9 UConn, 7:45 PM, CBS

#3 Utah vs #11 Gonzaga, 8:40 PM, TNT

#1 North Carolina vs #9 Providence, 9:40 PM, TBS

Oh and that Utah-Gonzaga game with teams from the Mountain and Pacific time zones which is being played in the Mountain time zone will start an hour before a UNC-Providence game being played on the east coast with two east coast teams. Thanks a lot CBS.
