Charlotte Observer | Andrew Carter: UNC punter Tom Sheldon didn’t even know where the school was located prior to ending up as the Tar Heels’ punter. The Australian native isn’t the only player from his country to come to the United States to become punters. Sheldon has bonded with kicker Nick Weiler, who hosted him on his first visit to Chapel Hill. Being 27 years old made showing him around the city pretty easy.
Inside Carolina | Sherrell McMillan: Roy Williams and Hubert Davis traveled to Alabama this weekend to extend an offer to center Garrison Brooks. Brooks also has offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State, where his father is an assistant coach.
GoHeels.com | Turner Walston: Larry Fedora told his guys not to worry about what happened early in their game against Illinois because he knew his team was going to have to adjust. The Illini jumped on the board early, but the Tar Heels were able to make that important adjustment and it allowed them to ultimately pull away.
CSN Philly | Jessica Camerato: Despite playing their college ball at UNC and Duke, respectively, Wayne Ellington and Gerald Henderson have a friendship that has withstood the test of time. Henderson was in town with the Hornets to play Ellington and the Lakers when Ellington learned that his father had been shot and killed in Philadelphia. Henderson made sure he did whatever it took to be there for his friend when he needed him the most.
