Five-star small forward Kevin Knox is one of the best overall players in the 2017 class of recruits. UNC has been on him for awhile now, offering him back in the winter of 2015, and making his top 10 list in July. Knox has now narrowed his list to five, and the Tar Heels have made the cut.
His previous list included UNC, Alabama, Arizona, Duke, Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, and Villanova. This weekend, the new list includes UNC, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, and Florida State.
The selections seem to be almost entirely based around the home visits he he has scheduled from Kentucky, Duke, FSU, and North Carolina, each program sending their head coach out to meet with Knox at his home in Tampa, Florida. It’s interesting to see that Kansas is still in the conversation, despite not scheduling a visit of their own.

The six-foot-eight, 195-pound prospect is ranked No. 9 overall in his class. He is also the No. 2 small forward and the No. 2 prospect out of the state of Florida. When it comes to his character, words like respectful, likable, and coachable have been mentioned. He’s also a well-regarded future NBA talent:
Knox has the tools to be a terrific pro down the line. He’s got the length and athleticism to play the wing in the NBA, and his skill set and three point range are advanced enough to project a pretty high ceiling.
Knox will meet with Roy Williams this week, while Duke and Florida State are also scheduled to spend time with him over the next few days. Many expect him to stay within the ACC with Duke being the favorite, but he could take his time and wait until the spring before making a decision.
