Chicago Sun-Times | Adam Jahns: Former Tar Heel Connor Barth has stepped into some big shoes in Chicago after the Bears released long-time kicker Robbie Gould on Sunday. Barth is on his sixth NFL team as a 30-year-old that has bounced around in his time as a professional.

Inside Carolina | Greg Barnes: UNC saw a 15 percent increase in season ticket sales after their 11-win season a year ago. The school would still like to see a complete sellout of season tickets, which they have not yet reached, but the momentum is definitely heading in the right direction.

Greensboro News & Record | Brant Wilkerson-New: Carolina was able to rough up Illinois a year ago, but the Illini may be able to prevent that from happening for the second straight year. Illinois’ defense has the talent and coaching to slow down UNC’s ground game.

Ridiculous Upside | Dakota Schmidt: Justin Jackson is expected to assume a leadership role for the Tar Heels entering his junior season. The Tar Heels will be looking for someone to fill the shoes of Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige, and they’ll be hoping Jackson can be that person.
