Tar Heels have improved their National Championship odds

New, comments

Despite some rocky moments in the first part of the season, UNC’s odds for winning the National Championship have gotten better since November.

UNC improved their odds of winning the 2017 National Championship to 11/1 in early January, according to Bovada. The Tar Heels were previously at 16/1 back in November. Kansas and Villanova are also at 11/1 with Kansas’ odds getting worse (7/1 in November) and Villanova’s improving (20/1 in November).

Unfortunately, Duke is the favorite to win it all with UCLA also coming in at 5/1. Duke, however, was at 15/4 odds back in November. Their shot at the championship has gotten longer despite remaining on top for now.

What this means at the beginning of January is really not much. Conference play is really just getting started and that will go a long way toward determining seeding for the NCAA tournament later this year. It is interesting, however, to monitor the trends of teams, if only to see how those who determine the odds are viewing the current state of the team.

You can view the complete listing in the table below. How do you feel about the odds for the Tar Heels and/or any of the other teams?
