I don't think road games have ever stressed me out as much as they have this year.
That's not to say that the Tar Heels aren't good or that they aren't capable of winning on the road, but there is just no sense of security in the ACC away from home this season. Even if your team wins, you sort of feel like they stole one. Fortunately, the Tar Heels are playing very good basketball right now. They've won their last seven games in a row.
UNC has struggled on the road in conference this season, much like most other teams in the ACC. Their road games, save for the thing that happened New Year's Eve, have been pretty close for the most part. They needed overtime against Clemson, Wake Forest erased a large deficit to make it uncomfortable until the very end, and scrappy Boston College played scrappy with Ky Bowman doing work for the Eagles. There hasn't been an easy one yet.
Hopefully today changes that. Carolina will have to do so without the services of Theo Pinson, who is out with what is hopefully just an abundance of caution surrounding his ankle. Pinson is the spark plug that makes the Tar Heels perform at another level, so they'll need to compensate for that in Coral Gables this afternoon. Wouldn't we all take a nice, easy Saturday afternoon win?
You can catch the game on CBS at 1:00 pm ET.
Go Heels!
