Fresh off their big win in Knoxville on Sunday, the Heels are back in the Dean Dome tonight for another non-conference primer against the Wofford Terriers. It’s the final non-con game of the season at home for Carolina before the Heels head to New Orleans to face Ohio State before Christmas break.
UNC has been on a roll since their only loss of the season to Michigan State. Although the team definitely has areas where they can still improve, they have looked like a very dangerous team for opponents to face. Better still for Carolina fans, the team has done it without a full compliment of players. Cameron Johnson should be back soon to give the team another offensive weapon.
With Joel Berry II, Kenny Williams, and Luke Maye being consistent scoring threats, adding Johnson to that bunch can only stand to make the Heels even harder to beat. That really leaves the post as the final piece of the puzzle. One of Sterling Manley, Garrison Brooks, and Brandon Huffman are going to have to separate themselves from the pack. Brooks has gotten all the starts, but Manley seems to be the most promising at the moment. We’ll see how it shakes out as conference play rapidly approaches.
We’ll be back after the game for the usual roundup of all the happenings. Until then...
Go Heels!
