The Tar Heels return to the Smith Center for a Sunday afternoon meeting with Tulane in hopes of winning their third straight game. Much like their last opponent, Davidson, Tulane is a proficient three-point shooting team. The Heels will need to continue to improve their perimeter defense in order to contain the long ball opportunities.
UNC has gotten fantastic offensive production out of Luke Maye and Joel Berry II. The two combined for over 50 points in the Heels’ win against Davidson on Friday. It would be nice to present a balanced offensive attack, but the big men have been struggling to put points on the board as of late. Berry and Maye have been more than picking up the slack.
Today’s game is the next to last one in a fairly intense stretch of games for Carolina. The team played three games in four days last weekend out west in the PK80 tournament before returning home to take home Michigan in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge on Wednesday and traveling to Charlotte for the Davidson game on Friday. Hopefully after the game against Western Carolina on Wednesday they’ll be able to take a breath.
We’ll be back after the game for the full wrap up, as always. Until then...
Go Heels!
