The Tar Heels have signed three-star wide receiver Beau Corrales out of Georgetown High School in Georgetown, Texas. Corrales is ranked as the 161st best wide receiver in the class of 2017, according to 247sports. He is 6’3” and 203 pounds.
Corrales was previously verbally committed to Iowa before de-committing back in November. The Hawkeyes have a policy that discourages commits from taking official visits elsewhere after their commitment. Corrales ultimately chose UNC over Iowa, Indiana, West Virginia, Utah, Vanderbilt, and various others.
With the departure of Bug Howard, Ryan Switzer, and Mack Hollins from UNC’s receiver corps, there will be an opportunity for the freshmen in the class to get some playing time. Corrales provides some good size for the position, which could be beneficial to him in trying to make his way into the fold.
As a senior at Georgetown HS, Corrales caught 86 passes for 1205 yards and 14 touchdowns. You can watch some of Beau’s highlights in the video below.
