The Tar Heels hit the road for the first time this season, heading to Norfolk, Virginia, to take on the Old Dominion Monarchs. UNC enters the game 0-2 after two games they led in the fourth quarter. It’s a game the Heels should be able to use to pick up their first win of the season if everything goes according to plan.
Chazz Surratt, who has been the best of the two quarterbacks for UNC so far this season, was injured at the end of the first half against Louisville. Brandon Harris stepped up his game in Surratt’s absence, which likely leaves the door wide open for Larry Fedora to continue using both of them without committing to either.
Carolina’s defense has been a major weakness in the early going of the season. A veteran group that was meant to be a place the shakier offense could lean on has definitely not been that to this point, particularly in the secondary. If the defense can’t hold Old Dominion...well, that doesn’t really bode well for pretty much anything going forward. Now is the time to get them right.
The game will be aired on Stadium TV (MyTV in the Triangle) or streaming on Twitter. If you’re just joining us, welcome to Tar Heel Blog!
