Calendars have been flipped to September, the air is beginning to get a bit chillier, and football is back in Kenan Stadium. The Tar Heels welcome the Golden Bears to Chapel Hill this afternoon for the first game of the season with both teams feeling like they have a lot to prove this year.
The offseason has been full of question marks for the Tar Heels. Who would be named quarterback, and how do they replace Mitch Trubisky? Can untested wide receivers replace the production of beloved seniors now off to play on Sundays? Can the defense be trusted to make up for a potentially less potent offense?
We won’t have answers to many of these questions for weeks, but getting out to a good start would go a long way toward inspiring Heels fans for the season ahead. It all starts this afternoon in the middle of the trees in the heart of campus.
If you’re joining us for the first time, welcome to Tar Heel Blog! We’re very happy to have you. Game threads are a place for you to chat with fellow fans in real time throughout the game. We’ll have plenty of postgame analysis coming your way when it’s all over with. Until then...
Go Heels!
