UNC Basketball: Saint Francis Game Thread

One final tuneup.

NCAA Basketball: Tennessee Tech at North Carolina Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports

While most of us are merely trying to get through the last couple days of work before the Thanksgiving holiday, the Tar Heels have one more tuneup game at the Smith Center before heading off to Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Invitational over the break.

Carolina will get Texas on Thanksgiving night before hopefully advancing to play the winner of UCLA/Michigan State on Friday. They return from their break to play Michigan in the ACC/Big 10 challenge next week. The road ahead is a difficult one, and the more reps the team can get together as a unit before taking on the big guns, the better.

Tonight’s game against Saint Francis is one such tuneup. It’s the campus portion of the Las Vegas Invitational, and it’ll serve as another 40-minute battle that will hopefully have Roy Williams’ squad firing on all cylinders ahead of tougher matchups to come.

UNC has gotten outstanding play up and down their roster to this point in the season. It’s hard to find many areas to truly complain about, which is a fantastic luxury. Here’s hoping they keep it up tonight.

If you’re watching at home and not in the Dean Dome, tonight’s game is on at 8:00 pm ET on ACC Network Extra. That means it’s streaming online only, just as a heads up.

As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...

Go Heels!
