The Tar Heels look to snap their losing streak in their opening game from Brooklyn.

It has been a pretty gross day in New York City. Snow rapidly intensified from light flurries this morning into multiple inches per hour with 40-50 mph wind conditions in the afternoon. Still, the ACC Tournament is in full swing from the Barclays center in Brooklyn, and UNC gets their first taste of action in the nightcap against Syracuse.

The Orange earned the right to play the Heels with a victory on Tuesday night against Wake Forest. UNC bested ‘Cuse in their only meeting this year at the Carrier Dome on February 21st. Jim Boeheim’s squad is fighting for a chance to dance in the NCAA Tournament, but they’ll have to make noise in the conference tournament to have a chance to get there.

Carolina is coming off back-to-back losses to Miami and Duke. Both were crushing in their own way, but the Tar Heels can find redemption for both losses if the bracket breaks correctly in New York. To get there, though, UNC will have to uphold their end of the bargain, and that starts with getting a win against Syracuse.

Grab a little coffee if you need to, it’s going to be a bit of a late night from NYC.

As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...

Go Heels!
