The Tar Heels seek revenge against the Hurricanes in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament in Brookyln.

NCAA Basketball: ACC Conference Tournament-North Carolina vs Syracuse Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

If everything breaks right for the Tar Heels, their revenge tour through the ACC Tournament begins tonight. Miami came into the Smith Center and upset UNC on Senior Night for Joel Berry II and Theo Pinson. The team can enact revenge for that by getting another shot at the Hurricanes tonight in Brooklyn.

Should Carolina be able to advance, Duke waits for them in the semifinals after beating Notre Dame earlier today. The Heels blew a 10-point lead on their way to a miserable second half in Cameron to close out the regular season. Revenge could be served cold twice. If Virginia makes it to the championship game, and the possibility is a good one, then the Heels could make it three straight games against teams they lost to in the regular season.

UNC got great production out of Pinson and Kenny Williams in their first game against Syracuse in Brooklyn last night. That made up for an underwelming performance from Berry on UNC’s way to a win over the Orange. Three-point defense was a concern again in the first half of last night’s game, but it seemed to improve after halftime. Hopefully that carries over into tonight.

As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...

Go Heels!
