College Basketball AP Poll: Week 9

The top 12 spots of the AP Poll did not change from last week. Even the first place votes remained the exact same.

Beyond that, there were mostly minor shuffles in the rankings. With conference play cranking up this weekend, expect quite a few more changes in next week’s poll update.

Where is UNC?

The North Carolina Tar Heels dropped one spot in the rankings to #15. UNC also dropped to #15 in the Coaches Poll.

Biggest Losers

After upsetting then-top ranked Kansas, Arizona State lost at home to Princeton. The upset by the Tigers knocked the then-17th ranked Sun Devils out of the poll this week.

Wisconsin held a four-point halftime lead against Western Kentucky, but ended up losing by seven to the Hilltoppers in Bowling Green. The loss dropped the Badgers seven spots in the poll to #22.

Biggest Winners

Nebraska returned to AP Poll this week and are riding a four-game winning streak following their blowout of Southwest Minnesota State University.

The biggest movers inside the poll are Houston and Kentucky. Each team gained three spots in the rankings. The Cougars remain a perfect 13-0 on the season, while the Wildcats earned a road victory versus rival Louisville.

On the Outside Looking In

Arizona State is the first team out of the rankings, while Kansas State and Villanova find themselves at #27 and #28 based on voter points.
