It’s already game day again! After Saturday’s win over Miami, the Tar Heels face a short turnaround as they return home to take on Virginia Tech tonight.
UNC has picked up three road wins to start conference play, but come into this game 1-1 at home in the ACC. Tonight’s task isn’t an easy one either, as they have to take on Virginia Tech. The Hokies have lost just two games on the season, with their second coming to then undefeated Virginia just days ago. Prior to that Tech was on a nine-game winning streak, and have rebounded since the loss with a win over Wake Forest.
Despite Virginia Tech’s gaudy 15-2 record, they haven’t dealt with the toughest opposition. (Their strength of schedule is in the 300s according to the KenPom rankings.) While UNC hasn’t looked great against tough competition (Gonzaga game excepted), this game will be the second toughest team the Hokies have faced. This should be an interesting test for both teams.
It should be a good game between two ranked teams tonight at the Dean Dome. If you’re not getting the chance to go to the game, here’s where you can catch it on TV or radio:
