UNC vs Virginia Tech: Tar Heels try and take control of the Coastal

Can UNC stay on track on the road?

NCAA Football: North Carolina at Georgia Tech Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Carolina heads up to Blacksburg to try and exorcise some demons against the Hokies this afternoon. UNC hasn’t found a lot of success against Virginia Tech in the last couple seasons, but beating them will be essential to the Heels’ ambition of meeting Clemson again in the ACC Championship Game at the end of the season.

The Heels will also be looking to make it two straight road wins after the pre-bye week victory in Atlanta two weeks ago. The schedule going forward is slightly favorable for UNC, but they must uphold their end of things in order to control their own destiny. Today’s game against Virginia Tech and next week’s game against Duke carry quite a bit of weight for a team that is still very much on a bit of a revenge tour after all of the lackluster results of the last two seasons.

As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...

Go Heels!
