UNC basketball is looking for their third win of the season when they welcome Gardner-Webb to the Dean Dome Friday night. The Bulldogs are riding an 0-2 start to their season as the reigning champions of the Big South Conference Tournament last year. Carolina is getting back big man Armando Bacot for the game after the freshman left the game against UNCW after being hit in the head.

The Heels are averaging 77 points and 52 rebounds early on, which would present problems for many teams. Gardner-Webb is no exception to that. However, Carolina’s game against UNCW was closer than felt necessary at various points last Friday, which just goes to show you that you can never take an opponent too lightly. Ask our friends at Kentucky about that.

Cole Anthony and Garrison Brooks have averaged double-doubles through the first two games of the season with Justin Pierce being the star of the show against the Seahawks a week ago. The Tar Heels are still waiting on Christian Keeling and Leaky Black to get going a bit, and there is no time like the present for that to happen.

As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...

Go Heels!
