As with all of UNC’s home games so far this year, tonight’s game against Virginia is sold out. The weather is supposed to be pretty chilly, but hopefully that doesn’t keep the crowd from showing up and being loud as Carolina takes on Virginia. The stakes are pretty high in this one as both teams sit 3-2 in conference play. The winner of tonight’s game will be in the driver’s seat for a rematch with Clemson in Charlotte next month.
Good news came for UNC this week on the injury front, which is a huge switch from all the other injury news this year. The Tar Heels are getting back a few valuable players who have been sitting out with various ailments. Reinforcements really couldn’t come at a better time.
I said last week on Twitter that after the Duke game was the first time I’d ever personally felt the press box in Kenan shake. I’m hoping the chilly temperatures don’t prevent a similarly electric atmosphere this evening, because tonight’s game is just as important as last week, if not slightly more so, when it comes to the season’s trajectory as a whole.
If you’re staying warm inside instead of traveling to Chapel Hill, follow along here in our game thread. As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...
Go Heels!
