The last time these two teams met it was very ugly for the home team. Louisville came into the Dean Dome and handed Roy Williams his worst home loss as coach of the Tar Heels. Everyone knows that already, though, and it’s time for Carolina to flip the script.
Unfortunately UNC will have to get the best of the Cardinals on the road without the help of Leaky Black or Sterling Manley. Manley missed the first game against Louisville and has been out for several games with a knee injury. Black suffered a sprained ankle against Georgia Tech and there is currently no timetable for his return.
Manley’s loss was certainly felt in the home loss to Louisville, as their post players were able to run all over Carolina inside. This puts added pressure on Luke Maye and Garrison Brooks to play good defense in the paint.
As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...
