ACC Tournament: UNC vs Louisville Game Thread

The Tar Heels try to win the season series against Louisville in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.

NCAA Basketball: Duke at North Carolina Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

North Carolina opens their portion of the ACC Tournament tonight in the quarterfinals against Louisville. Louisville defeated Notre Dame in Charlotte on Wednesday in order to earn a third matchup against the Tar Heels this year.

The Cardinals embarrassed UNC at home before it was all Carolina on the road on UNC’s way to a perfect season on the road in ACC Play. Luke Maye and Cameron Johnson had amazing performances last time out against the Cardinals, scoring 20 and 19 points respectively.

Carolina is arguably playing the best basketball of anyone in the country right now, but an early exit is not the way to maximize their potential for seeding in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Hopefully the guys can take care of business against the Cardinals and make it to the semifinals tomorrow night.

As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...

Go Heels!
