Last week, we detailed how a couple of Diamond Heels stood out in the Coastal Plain League All-Star Game, and teased that the Cape Cod League was coming up on its game. That game, to be played in Orleans, MA, has also released their All-Star lineups.
Unfortunately, none of the three Tar Heels that are summering on the Cape earned a spot on either squad. In fact, the three Tar Heels are now down to one, as Caden O’Brien and Danny Serretti were both released. Transactions in the CCL don’t come with any explanation, so it’s unclear why both left their teams. O’Brien is especially puzzling because in his two appearances, he didn't give any earned runs. So, for now, Austin Love is the only Tar Heel that appears to be spending the rest of his summer in Massachusetts.
With that said, plenty of Tar Heels are plugging along this summer, and it’s time to see how each of them are doing.
