It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Yup, the advent of the 2019 college football season means that we get to bring back our weekly staff predictions for every football game played by an ACC team over the course of the season. Last year, we saw Brandon come out on top, possibly helped by the fact that the rest of us were foolishly optimistic about UNC’s chances of pulling one of those one-possession games off their way rather than dropping them like they did all season. Congrats, Brandon. You get... a virtual nod.
We start anew this season, and after Miami’s loss to Florida in Week 0, here’s what we’ve got on this weekend’s slate:
There’s a couple of interesting games there, if you ask us. Out of the three ACC Network openers, two look pretty predictable, but Virginia Tech and Boston College are giving us some pause. Boise State and Florida State, two powerhouse programs who are big-time unknowns, also cause some consternation, and of course UNC’s own game is split between the optimists and those who have been beaten down enough already by thinking UNC should win an opener (regrettably, I still fall into the former category). It doesn’t look like we have any other game on the menu with more than one dissent from the consensus, but that’s pretty par for the course, right?
Welcome to college football season and be sure to check back with us every week to see how the competition’s going!
