Confidence in UNC football is running high in this week’s FanPulse survey

Things keep going Mack Brown’s way, and that’s the way we like it.

Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across college sports. Each week during the college sports season, we will send out polls to plug in fans to each team. Tar Heel fans can sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

Week two is officially in the books, which means that it’s time for another SB Nation FanPulse top 25 reveal. Now that the Tar Heels have beaten Miami, is this the week that we see them show up on the list? Let’s not waste anymore time and take a look:

As we can see, UNC unfortunately was unable to make it into this week’s list. Instead, there are newcomers this week like USC and Mississippi State, with the Bulldogs leapfrogging the AP’s #25 Virginia Cavaliers. With the exception of Clemson, the top 25 is once again uneventful as far as the ACC goes, and it’s likely that the Tar Heels have one of the better chances of making it onto next week’s list if they can make it past Wake Forest. As far as the AP Poll goes, UNC managed to receive 48 votes, which is a big increase from the one vote they received last week.

As far as how confident fans are in the team so far, things are as perfect as they can be. You, the fans, seem to be extremely confident in the direction the program is headed thus far, which is shown in this week’s survey:

To put it simply: it’s hard to be a Carolina football fan right now and not be excited for everything that’s happened so far. Mack Brown did a lot of great things this past spring/summer in order to get non-gameday things back in order, and now the team is 2-0 after beating two Power Five teams in a row. Given the fact that no other coach not named Mack Brown has been able to do that in the last 20+ years, specifically referring to the Power Five wins to open the season, I’d say that alone is more than enough to feel good about where things are. However, the energy, passion, and determination exemplified by the players and staff is contagious, and it is really hard not to root for these guys, win or lose.
