UNC’s schedule to open ACC play was supposed to be on the easier side. Georgia Tech, Pitt, Clemson, and Virginia Tech all felt like very winnable games. Then Georgia Tech happened.
You don’t need me to tell you that the Tar Heels are in the danger zone here, but it’s part of my job to write things about this team. Things have to change sooner rather than later for things to not feel too far gone by the time Cole Anthony returns.
That could begin tonight with a win over Pittsburgh. Avoiding long scoring droughts may be too obvious, but they have also been this team’s downfall on multiple occasions this season. Hopefully they can play more consistently so they don’t need late-game heroics to make a run at a win.
