Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across college sports. Each week during the college sports season, we will send out polls to plug in fans to each team. Tar Heel fans can sign up HERE to join FanPulse.
Hello everyone! It’s been a while since we’ve gotten to do a FanPulse survey, let alone discuss one. Unfortunately for us as Tar Heels fans, it is probably for the best considering the fact that things have not being going well at all for the basketball team. I mean, things have been going really bad. That’s nothing that I have to tell any of you, though, so rather than fixating on all of the struggles that be, let’s take a look at how all of you are feeling about the team this week:

Unfortunately this chart was produced prior to the loss last night to Pitt, so it wouldn’t be surprising to know that confidence is somehow lower than what is being shown. The Tar Heels looked much better in the first half against the Panthers, and I think it’s fair to say that some of us even felt like a W was within the realm of possibility barring anything cataclysmic transpiring. Needless to say said cataclysmic event indeed transpired, and now the Heels are 1-3 in conference play. Woof.
The agonizing part of all of this is that the only way this team is going to be able to stand a chance in their February part of the schedule is getting Cole Anthony back. We’ll never know if this is true or not, but I think it’s fair to say that if he plays against Georgia Tech and Pitt then the narrative surrounding this team is at least one that isn’t the absolute worst. None of this matters, however, because the reality of the situation is that he didn’t play and probably won’t be available to play for at least a few more games. It was fun while it lasted, but the undefeated streak against Clemson may be getting Thanos snapped away this weekend.
What are your thoughts about this week’s survey? Feel share all of your frustrations, anger, sadness, disappointment, and puppy pictures in the comments below. Oh, and baby goats. You probably think I’m kidding, but our staff loves both puppies and baby goats. Also don’t forget to sign up for FanPulse if you haven’t already by clicking the link at the beginning of the article.
Go Heels!
