UNC vs Virginia: Game thread

Looking for all treats, no tricks.

NCAA Football: North Carolina State at North Carolina Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Halloween looks a little different this year, and Carolina having a football game in prime time for the occasion seems like a pretty good way to pass the time instead of the normal festivities. The UNC running backs made their proverbial money last week running all over the NC State defense, but Virginia’s secondary leaves something to be desired. It might be time to let Sam Howell air it out and see what happens.

The Cavaliers have struggled this season and the Tar Heels still have a lot to prove. They moved down in the poll after beating a ranked (for better or worse) State team, and they’ll be hoping to put together a performance in Charlottesville that demands more respect.

UNC has a few injury problems that have been lingering for a few weeks now. Notably, Storm Duck is still not healthy enough to play and Patrice Rene and Beau Corrales have been dealing with injuries of their own. That is certainly something to keep an eye on heading into tonight’s game.

As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...

Go Heels!
