When all the pandemic adjusted ACC football schedules came out, it was hard not to think way ahead to this game between North Carolina and Notre Dame. They were picked second and third respectively in the preseason ACC media poll. It’s being played on the Thanksgiving weekend that, in normal season, is typically reserved for rivalry games. You could reasonably see it as a potential play in game for the ACC Championship Game.
A lot has changed over the course of the season. UNC has taken some losses. Notre Dame beat Clemson and is now in the driver’s seat in the conference. What hasn’t changed is that this is a big game. It’s a real chance for the Tar Heels to get a marquee win in year two of the second Mack Brown era. It’s also a chance for them to throw a wrench in Notre Dame’s plans for another game with Clemson and an ACC title. This is going to be fun.
