UNC vs. NC State: How to Watch

Heads up, we have a time change.

NCAA Basketball: North Carolina at Iowa Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

It’s the UNC Tar Heels versus the NC State Wolfpack in PNC Arena that's sure to be packed with...oh...right.

Oh well, it sure is nice to get out of that horrible year of 2020 to...wait...what?

Ok, fine, I guess I’ll bite but at least it’s a later start so I won’t have to wolf down dinner and can put the kids to...dangit!

Yes, folks, it is still the year 2020 which means this game being played at the ATM in Raleigh will not have any fans, and that may be the first real time that you’ll notice just how much is missing with college basketball this season. The Tar Heels would be coming into Raleigh tonight to face a Wolfpack team looking to avenge the embarrassing sweep they had at the hands of their Triangle foe. Students would circle the court jumping up and down and Roy Williams would talk of going in and stealing their brownies. The energy usually provided will be lacking, and it’ll be interesting to see how it affects both teams.

2020 also means that for some reason the ACC put this game as the conference opener for both squads, and that a game that was supposed to be a marquee 9 PM tip for the ACC Network is now a 7 PM game. This is thanks to a positive Covid Test in the Buffalo program. You see, since Buffalo just played in Syracuse on Saturday and since then have had a positive test. Thus, the Orange has to do some contact tracing and give things time to settle prior to playing, which means their game against Notre Dame at 7 PM had to be postponed.

You might as well get used to reading more paragraphs like that this season. The Tar Heels have already had a sudden game against NCCU to replace a canceled game versus Elon, a swapped time then opponent this past weekend, and now a new game time while playing a team that needed to take a two week pause itself. Oh, and if the coaching staff were hoping to point up to the big screen to at least see replays of things, that won’t happen either. Maybe either the school or the Hurricanes should have had someone just do a quick check of the equipment while other employees were furloughed?

Either way, this game in Raleigh is set for tonight, and here’s how you can catch the action:

Tipoff: 7:00 PM Eastern

Location: PNC Arena, Raleigh, NC

TV: ACC Network. Wes Durham and Jordan Cornette behind the mics.

Radio: As usual, you can catch this one on the Tar Heel Sports Network. Find your local station here. Alternatively, you can find it on Internet Radio on TuneIn.

Streaming: Watch ESPN on your computer, or the ESPN App on the appropriate Phone. As always, the cable service you subscribe to has to carry the ACCN (sorry, Comcast customers)

Betting: As of the typing of this post, the line is Even with Over/Under set at 145. Carolina started as a +1.5 underdog.
