Guess what, everyone? We made it to the ACC/Big Ten Challenge! I know that sounds like a weird thing to be excited about, but this entire calendar year has been just that, and college basketball is not exempt. Teams have already had to cancel a number of games due to COVID issues, but thankfully UNC is in Iowa City to take on the No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes.
The great news that we received late this afternoons is that Garrison Brooks will see action after suffering an ankle injury in the game against Texas. He is definitely needed in a big way for this matchup, because the Heels are going against 6’11 stud Luka Garza, who has already had some impressive games this season.
Speaking of games the Hawkeyes have played, this will be their first Power Five game of the season, as they played NC Central to open the season, followed by Southern University and Western Illinois University. One could argue that the reason the Hawkeyes look so good is because they haven’t really been tested yet, but I can say this for sure: Luka Garza is as legit as they come. Will the Heels’ ridiculous post depth be enough to make the Hawkeyes beat them with anybody other than their star player? We will find out soon enough.
As always we will be here after the game with some post-game analysis. Until then, Go Heels!
