UNC Men’s Tennis: Tar Heels ranked No. 3 as ACC play begins

The North Carolina Tar Heels men’s tennis team had an excellent showing at the ITA Indoor National Championship in Madison, WI.

Carolina lost in the championship to Southern California, and in the wake of their national runner-up finish, UNC moved up to No. 3 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Men’s Team Rankings.

The 10-1 Tar Heels have four individuals ranked, including No. 11 William Blumberg, No. 42 Benjamin Sigouin, No. 47 Rinky Hijikata, and No. 103 Josh Peck.

UNC has two pairs of doubles ranked, with No. 4 Mac Kiger and Simon Soendergaard, and No. 16 Blumberg and Brian Cernoch.

The Tar Heels will have the weekend off before opening conference play next weekend against Virginia Tech in Chapel Hill.
