UNC Baseball: Weekend of 2/28

The Tar Heels are traveling to Minnesota for the CambriaCollegeClassic.

The North Carolina Tar Heels will make their longest regualr season road trip in program history this weekend.

Carolina will be joining conference foes Duke and NC State in Minneapolis, MN for the CambriaCollegeClassic against Minnesota, Purdue, and Iowa. This ACC-Big Ten round robin will take place in U.S. Bank Stadium over the weekend.

Against Minnesota, the probable starter will be Will Sandy.

The Golden Gophers are 4-4 on the season and have recorded victories over Oregon, Arizona, South Dakota State, and TCU. Jack Wassel is leading the way for Minnesota with a .321 average.

On Saturday afternoon, Joey Lancellotti will get the nod for UNC. Iowa is scheduled to start Grant Judkins. Judkins was the latest Big Ten pitcher of the week. Against Arizona, he threw six shutout innings while striking out six.

The Hawkeyes are also .500 on the season that includes a 4-1 win over then-ranked Arizona. Brendan Sher leads Iowa with a .350 batting average.

In the Sunday morning finale, Connor Ollio will start against Purdue.

The Boilermakers are off to a hot start this season with a 6-1 record. Senior catcher Zac Fascia is leading the team with .375 average.
