Looking at the ACC Tournament picture as a whole for UNC may look daunting. It’s pretty simple: they must win five games in five days if they want to play in the Big Dance. You can’t win five before you win one, and the Tar Heels will be trying to do that tonight against Virginia Tech.
Each game from here on out is do or die. Carolina cannot lose and have their season continue. That in and of itself has been a bit of a difficult task for this year’s version of the Heels, but they have played better as of late (Saturday not withstanding).
The good news is that UNC managed to take Virginia Tech to the wire when these two teams met earlier this season despite being without Cole Anthony and Brandon Robinson. With those two and a (hopefully) pro-Carolina crowd at the Greensboro Coliseum, maybe they can reverse their fortunes this time around. They kind of have to if we want to make it to tomorrow.
As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...
Go Heels!
