Trevion Stevenson, a 6-foot-3, 217 pound edge rusher from Phoebus (Hampton, VA) High School, committed to Mack Brown and the Tar Heels this week, and posted a slick video on his Twitter account:

Stevenson emerges from his beach workout in what can only be described as the Carolina Museum of fan caves. It is a sight to behold, a real fan’s hideaway filled with treasures that took years to accumulate. This is not a fan cave that was hastily assembled after committing to the Tar Heels, then sprinting to the nearest Marshalls and T.J. Maxx to buy a few knick knacks from the clearance racks. This fan cave took years to cultivate, and required tender love to care for.

First, Trevion is shown sitting on his throne, a Carolina rocking chair from Cracker Barrel. Who amongst us has sat on one of these while waiting to be summoned to the dining area, but never had the courage to buy it and take home? Trevion did, and now he can turn it around and stare at his wall-mounted flat screen TV that is playing last year’s thrilling victory over Duke!

Next, Trevion shows off the drip, allowing us 360-degree views of the Air Jordan 3 Retro UNC PE (white, cement-grey, university (Carolina) blue) and Air Jordan 4 UNC PE, with speckled wings, midsole, and heel. Also pictured is what I believe to be a Snow Joe Snow Thrower. Duke blue, unfortunately, but I’ll chalk that up to the manufacturer.

Finally, Trevion gives us a wide view of his fan cave, and it does not disappoint. There is standard signage, including Tar Heels street signs, UNC logos, and a replica 2017 men’s basketball national championship banner. Trevion is dead center in a UNC football shirt with his name and the #11 he wears for the Phoebus Phantoms.
To his right, a Carolina dorm fridge with retro Rameses logo, vintage 1982 men’s basketball championship commemorative Coca-Cola glass bottles, and a DVD tower presumably filled with classic Carolina highlights. To his left, a Rameses cut-out, that if scaled next to the dorm fridge, must be at least five feet tall.
Finally, take a look in the upper right corner. Among various framed magazine covers and a picture of Michael Jordan kissing Dean Smith on the head from the Celebration of a Century night, is a FRAMED PICTURE OF DANNY GREEN DUNKING ALL OVER GREG PAULUS!!! You and I post gifs of this momentous occasion to our Duke-supporting friends and work colleagues, but Trevion bought and framed that picture to look at and admire while in his fabulous fan cave.
Watching this Twitter video afforded me a moment to reflect on my own fandom. Clearly there are levels to this, and Trevion Stevenson is threatening to out-lap me. Maybe we should all visit our favorite UNC retailer and stock up on some new Tar Heels merchandise. What is your favorite piece of fan memorabilia, or gear that you wear while watching the Heels?
