It was an up and down week for the collective of North Carolina basketball. After handling Northeastern in a quickly scheduled game, they crushed Louisville over the weekend, giving the Tar Heels’ their best win of the season. However on the other hand, the women couldn’t complete a season sweep of upsets over NC State, falling to the Wolfpack on Sunday.
With another week in the books, let’s see where things shook out in the top 25 rankings.

Where is UNC?
The blowout win over Louisville has moved the Tar Heels up slightly....but not too much. After getting just two votes last week, Carolina is now up to six. They’re still a ways off #25, however.
Biggest Winners
Kansas was the biggest gainer of the week, moving up six spots after extending their win streak to five games. However, the biggest winner of the week was arguably a team that didn’t move at all. Michigan beat Ohio State in the biggest game of the regular season so far. With that win, they have established themselves as the clear #3 behind Gonzaga and Baylor.
Biggest Losers
Virginia’s loss to a certain school from Durham has caused them to suffer the biggest drop of the week, falling eight spots. Serves them right.

Where is UNC?
NC State got their revenge against the Tar Heels and as a result, UNC still isn’t among the “others receiving votes.” They’re still hanging onto a NCAA Tournament place in ESPN’s WBB Bracketology, however.
Biggest Winners
Georgia is on a four-game win streak, vaulting them up a week high five spots.
Biggest Losers
On the other hand, Gonzaga and DePaul also had a five spot move, but went in the other direction.
