Another week, another game scheduled on the fly. This time, at least, UNC didn’t have to put out a desperate call on social media to have Marquette agree to come to town so that the Tar Heels can actually get games on the schedule.
Carolina has looked good as of late with their only real stinker coming on the road at Virginia, which just seems to happen regardless. As a team that has been flirting with the bubble for weeks, it’s a very welcome sign.
Beating Marquette would be another feather in the Heels’ cap when it comes to impressing the selection committee. They are simply running out of games at this point and quality wins are hard to come by. Picking up one tonight would be huge.
Despite the fact that Governor Roy Cooper announced today that the state would be easing restrictions on things like indoor sporting events, this will be another game in a mostly silent Dean Dome. The good news is that change seems to be on the horizon with coronavirus numbers dropping across the state. Here’s to a light at the end of the tunnel!
As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...
Go Heels!
