AP Top 25: Week of 11/27

It wasn’t a great week for UNC teams.

Arguably the biggest week of the college sports calendar has come and gone, and it didn’t go great for North Carolina. All of football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball took losses in various forms and fashions. As a result, all are also going the wrong way in their various AP Polls. With last week’s action in the books, let’s look at where things stand in this week’s Top 25s.

Where is UNC?

Yeah...no. The Tar Heels got one solitary vote at #25, but other than that are completely off the Top 25 radar.

Biggest Winners

Not a lot of big jumps up this week, so we’ll make Michigan the biggest winner, as they are not far away from #1 Georgia at the top of the poll.

Biggest Losers

Oregon State and Louisville each took six spot drops after losing their in-state rivalry game. Meanwhile, Kansas State went from #19 to unranked after doing the same.

Where is UNC?

After taking a loss to Villanova the Bahamas, the Tar Heels did fall a couple spots, dropping to #17. Funnily enough, that was actually one spot ahead of the ‘Nova team they lost to, because the polls are weird sometimes.

Biggest Winners

After winning the Maui Invitational championship, Purdue went to #1 for the first time this season. In terms of places, Villanova’s eight spot rise was the largest this week.

Biggest Losers

Creighton’s eight spot drop after falling to previously unranked Colorado State in the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City was the biggest of the week.

The Tar Heels did not have the best weeks, going 1-2 at their tournament in Florida. They did move down as a result, but are clinging on to a ranking at #24.

Biggest Winners

NC State started the season unranked, but they’re up to #5 thanks to early season wins over UConn and Colorado

Biggest Losers

The Tar Heels’ six spot drop was actually the biggest of the week, but they had some tight competition with UConn and Colorado falling five and four spots respectively.
