The ACC and SEC are taking on their first early season challenge between the two conferences with UNC drawing Tennessee for the inaugural matchup. Both teams found themselves in a bit of trouble over Thanksgiving with the Tar Heels losing their first game of the season to Villanova in the Bahamas and Tennessee dropping games to #2 Purdue and #1 Kansas in back-to-back matchups out in Maui.
Losing to those two teams is definitely nothing shameful for the Volunteers. Their team is allowing just over 61 points per game so far in the early going. Their offense, on the other hand, has struggled. They are tied for 222nd in the country with 73.7 points per game, which is quite a bit different from Carolina’s 30th ranked offense at 85.3 points per game.
UNC’s offense will try and keep that rolling against the Volunteers in what should be a pretty fun early season matchup at the Dean Dome.
As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...
