The North Carolina Tar Heels landed an important commitment today in the transfer portal.
Offensive lineman Austin Blaske is 6’5”, 310 pounds, and was previously at the University of Georgia. After his official visit, he has committed to UNC.
After redshirting in 2020, Blaske played six games as a reserve in 2021. The following season, Blaske appeared in nine games.
Blaske was fighting for the starting left tackle position this year with Georgia but remained in the backup role.
Adding bodies to the offensive line will be critical during the offseason. Carolina is losing William Barnes, Corey Gaynor, Ed Montilus, and Spencer Rolland.
