The North Carolina Tar Heels wrap up their grueling pre-Christmas schedule at the Jumpman Invitational in Charlotte versus seventh-ranked Oklahoma. The Sooners are rated as one of the best defensive teams in the nation, ranking eighth in adjusted defensive efficiency and 15th in scoring defense. Oklahoma is undefeated, rattling off 10 straight wins to start the season. OU has two notable wins over a ranked Southern California squad and a talented Arkansas team.
Tonight’s game will be a battle of strengths. In fact, OU and UNC are ranked 19th and 20th respectively in the KenPom ratings. With Carolina’s recent struggles on the glass, and Oklahoma pulling down nearly 40 rebounds a game, the game may be won or lost in the paint.
The Tar Heels will face a difficult opponent in the second annual Jumpman Invitational, and facing a three-game losing streak heading into Christmas.
