Last week was a big one for North Carolina Tar Heels basketball. UNC welcomed then-top-ten Tennessee into the Smith Center and put in a big performance, dropping 100 points against a team that was considered one of the best defenses in the country. They followed that up by rallying past Florida State after a huge second half run.
Now, things aren’t set to get any easier.
Tonight, Carolina will head back out on the toad for a top ten battle in “The Mecca.” Later today, Madison Square Garden will play host as the Tar Heels take on the reigning national champions: the UConn Huskies.
While their roster has some differences from when they cut down the nets last April, UConn still comes into this matchup as a highly ranked team. So far, they’re 7-1 on the season, with their only loss coming on the road to a very good Kansas team. This will be a very tough test for the Heels, but if they play like they did last week, it should be a fun game.
