The North Carolina Tar Heels (12-3, 4-0) will face off against Syracuse (11-4, 2-2) this afternoon in the Dean Smith Center. This will be the first home game for the Heels since December 29th thanks to the three-game road trip that they endured to ring in the New Year. After completing the trip with an impressive 3-0 record, they are riding high in the ACC, and very well could extend their lead in the conference with a win today.
As far as Syracuse goes, they are arriving in Chapel Hill fresh off of a win against Boston College earlier this week. Their season so far has had some peaks and valleys thanks to some wins over Oregon, Pitt, and LSU, but they have yet to beat a ranked team and also lost to Virginia not long ago. The Tar Heels are favored pretty heavily in this game, but as always, being favored is only a benefit if they play as well as they should play. Thankfully that hasn’t been an issue so far this season, so hopefully we are in for a fun afternoon.
