UNC Basketball: Syracuse Game Thread

Back in Chapel Hill!

NCAA Basketball: North Carolina at N.C. State Jaylynn Nash-USA TODAY Sports

After what seems like forever, UNC is finally back at home for a Saturday afternoon game against Syracuse. The Tar Heels opened 2024 with a three-game ACC roadtrip in which they went 3-0 against Pitt, Clemson, and NC State.

So much of the Heels’ schedule to this point has been a gauntlet. They played a very difficult non-conference schedule, and have played in some very challenging environments within conference play to this point. The best part of it is that they’ve survived those challenges with only their Villanova loss looking kind of suspect at this point.

Syracuse comes into today’s game having won four of their last five games with the loss coming on the road at Duke. Like UNC, they beat Pitt, but they haven’t beaten a ranked opponent to this point. They are led by Judah Mintz who is averaging 19 points per game.

As always, we’ll be back after the game with a complete roundup of the happenings. Until then...

Go Heels!
