After an off day enjoying all of the beauties that Portland has to offer, including all of the national parks and rapids reccomended by Bill Walton, North Carolina heads back to the court tonight to take on frequent foe Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans. It’s for all of the marbles of the PK80...umm...Victory Bracket as our neighbors down the road go for the title of the Motion Bracket.
This whole tournament is odd. Thinking about that, the color guy for ESPN makes sense.
Here’s how you can see and hear the actions tonight:
Time: 8:30 Eastern
Location: Moda Center, Portland, OR
TV: ESPN. The same guys who called the last two games, are behind the mic again, Roxy Berntein doing play-by-play and Bill Walton doing analysis. Not saying he’ll do analysis of the actual game but there will be analysis by Walton.
Radio: Tar Heel Sports Network. (click for affiliates) Dave Nathan is handling the play-by-play as Jones handled the NC State game yesterday, and he’ll be alongside Eric Big Grits Montross for color.
Streaming: Watch ESPN, ESPN App for video. Goheels.com or the TuneIn App if you, for some reason, would rather listen to the THSN.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a Tar Heel fan living in Boston, and on Friday I made the decision to listen to the THSN instead of ESPN. Based on my Twitter timeline, it was a popular one. The TuneIn app is really good for those of outside of regular radio. I fired it up and had to pause it in order to have it line up with the TV signal, the opposite of what you’d expect.
If you have a hot take about the color commentator tonight, perhaps try that option as at this point. You’ll get the highlights on Twitter and it’ll save you aggravation for those who enjoy him.
Go Heels!
