Darius Days is getting closer to a decision on his commitment. The four-star power forward has narrowed his final list from 11 schools down to five. North Carolina is one of the programs that remain, as well as Louisville, LSU, Ohio State, and Xavier. Days has said that he plans to commit on October 20—his birthday.
Following his announcement of the finalists, Days gave a quick rundown on each school. He had good things to say about Roy Williams and hinted at a possible home visit in the future.
“I have a great relationship with Coach Roy (Williams). He calls me here and there. He is going to come down to the Rock to see me, watch me practice and talk to my parents. That is just big. I don’t have a choice. I have to have Coach Roy and UNC in my top five, regardless.”

Days’ recruitment is being primarily handled by UNC assistant coach Hubert Davis, though Roy seems to be getting more involved. He is 74th overall in the 2018 recruiting class. He is also the 20th-best power forward, but at six-foot-eight, he has potential to be a stretch 4. Hailing from Gainesville, Days is the 11th-best player from the state of Florida.
Most of his official visits have already been set. He will see Louisville on September 15 and Ohio State on September 22. In October, Days will visit Chapel Hill on the 6th and LSU on the 13th. He still needs to nail down a date for Xavier.
With an October 20 commitment date, the Tar Heels still have a few more weeks to make their pitch to him.
