We have a pretty good feeling about who's going to win in most of the ACC games this week. The true test in each pick lies in the answer to the question “but by how many points?” In a game where the spread is upwards of 30 points (i.e. Duke at Louisville,) this could get tricky. Furthermore, what if an underdog can pull off a big win against a ranked opponent? I’m looking at you, unranked Syracuse playing at home against Virginia Tech. I'm sure the Orange are desperate to turn their 2-4 season around, and anything can happen in the Carrier Dome.
Pitt at Virginia has to the potential to be a tight one. The Panthers are favored on the road, we’ll see if UVA can fend off James Conner and company after a bye last week. Georgia Tech should be able to take care of Georgia Southern in Atlanta no problem. However, you never know what can happen with the Jackets if their opponent can sniff out the triple-option early.
And last but not least, our Heels travel to Miami to take on the Hurricanes at 3:30 on Saturday. This game feels a little bit like playing the Seminoles two weeks ago. The Canes really don't want to lose to Carolina, especially at home. After a disappointing showing last week, UNC is looking to play with a chip on their shoulder and snag another quality road win. The spread on this game has dropped from 7.5 to 7 over the course of the past couple days, which shows that a few people have been betting on the Tar Heels. Maybe even some Tar Heel Blog staff!
