Tar Heels news 7/15/16: Elijah Hood ranks second in ACC among running backs

Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports

Chapelboro.com | Avery Trendel: UNC finished among the top four schools in the Men's and Women's Capital One Cup for 2016. Only two other schools, Oklahoma and Stanford, also got both their men and women to finish among the top four. This was, of course, thanks to UNC pulling out championships in men's and women's lacrosse late in the year.

WRALSportsFan | Aaron Beard: Freshman Tony Bradley is hoping that he can provide Carolina with a much-needed spark in his first taste of college basketball later this year. His role on the team could be very important with Isaiah Hicks having a knack for getting into foul trouble.

Keeping It Heel | Brandon Griffin: A preview of UNC football's matchup with Virginia. Keeping It Heel predicts that UNC will win the game handily, for whatever it's worth.

ESPN | David Hale: In ranking the top running backs in the ACC, Hale ranks Elijah Hood second behind Florida State's Dalvin Cook. Hood is, of course, poised to have a huge year in 2016, which could boost his standing among conference running backs even more.
