Tar Heels news 7/19/16: Carolina's new four-star commit gives secondary welcome flexibility

247Sports | Steve Wiltfong: UNC landed four-star cornerback Tre Shaw on Monday, giving the Tar Heels more flexibility in their secondary. His commitment brings UNC to 12th in the 247Sports rankings and fourth in the ACC.

WRGB | Doug Sherman: With Andrew Platek announcing that he'll be joining the Tar Heels, he becomes the fourth basketball player from the Albany, New York region to join the UNC family. The most recent was Scott Cherry, who was a member of the 1993 National Championship team.

Keeping it Heel | Zack Pearson: The nation's top power forward has ranked UNC in his top eight. Wendell Carter is ranked second overall by ESPN out of Pace Academy in Atlanta. His top eight also included Georgia, Georgia Tech, Duke, Harvard, Arizona, Kentucky, and Cal.

News & Observer | Andrew Carter: UNC is set to respond to the NCAA's amended Notice of Allegations that they received on April 25th. A final resolution to the long saga should come some time in early 2017.
