Tar Heels News 9/23/16: Mitch Trubisky is ready to feast on Pitt’s defense

NCAA Football: James Madison at North Carolina Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Inside Carolina | Ross Martin: Mitch Trubisky has shown improvement on his reads, but there is still room for improvement. Larry Fedora runs his offense based on what the defense gives them, so Trubisky will need to keep up.

Carolina Blue | Noah Grant: After walking on in his freshman year, junior wide receiver Thomas Jackson earned a scholarship in the off-season. He finally got significant time to play against James Madison and came away with four touches for 22 yards.

Inside Carolina | Sherrell McMillan: North Carolina will host several basketball recruits this coming weekend, but none are more important than five-star forward P.J. Washington. At this point, they are only competing with Texas, Kentucky, and Arizona.

Carolina Blue | Jarrett Corder: Mitch Trubisky is ready to continue his offensive outburst against Pittsburgh and their ineffective defense. Pitt has allowed about 330 passing yards per game in their first three matchups, and UNC will look to take advantage of that.
